One of the greatest problems of today’s Christianity is, how is someone to recognize what is from the holy spirit and what is not? The thousands of churches compete to explain the spiritual.
Why do I call it “the spiritual”? The other way is to call it “the spiritual things,” but not the spiritual gifts! Here is the reason.
In the book from the sacred scriptures, called “1st epistle to the saints in the city of Corinth,” it is said in your translations of the Bible (in 12:1): “Now concerning the spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.” In this sentence there is one serious translation problem. One word has been added arbitrarily – gifts. The reason is very simple: in ancient Greek, when the neuter plural is used, “things, works” and the like are understood. Therefore most translators, without having the necessary spiritual understanding, add the word “gifts,” so that it will be “understood,” according to them, without realizing that in this way they damage the original meaning of the text.
For the lovers of ancient Greek: “Περὶ δὲ τῶν πνευματικῶν, ἀδελφοί, οὐ θέλω ὑμᾶς ἀγνοεῖν.” In the first part of the sentence there are the words Περὶ - “concerning”; δὲ - “and, but”; τῶν πνευματικῶν - “the spiritual,” and there are no other words. The key word is πνευματικός and means: relating to the wind (the air or the breathing), fragrant, spiritual, and some others.
Therefore, the exact translation would be: “And/but concerning the spiritual /things/, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.” Another way to translate the Greek neut. gender pl. number is with neut. gender sg. number: “concerning the spiritual.” Many of the relatively correct translations put the word gifts in italics: “gifts.”
(It is good to note that italics, or slanted type, is used in translations of the Bible for speech added by the translators, which is not according to the rules of the language.)
The reason for the confusion is that when one speaks about gifts, we begin to count the specific gifts in the text and to wonder whether we have any of them. If, however, we translate correctly, we will see that the holy spirit through Paul teaches us the spiritual, that is, that which he himself is, the spirit. That is why in the following sentences it speaks about gifts, actions, services, that is, about everything spiritual! Therefore, the spiritual things or the spiritual is everything connected with the god, with the holy spirit, with Yesus the anointed, with the god’s word, with the messengers, with the sky.
There is a disgusting hypocrisy in today’s churches, which I consider to have existed throughout all the centuries since there have been religious organizations. In order to exist they must change the meanings of the words in the word of the god. This is so deeply laid in the thinking of the religious person who calls himself a Christian, but is not in reality.
Therefore the spiritual is something that has turned into a dispute between the separate churches, in their dispute with the god himself. Millions of Christians do not understand the spiritual at all, and their leaders are guilty for this, who constantly preach lies in the name of the god and mislead the believers until they turn them into total two-faced people. (It must be known that they do not speak lies on all topics, but only on certain ones, which relate to their power, responsibility, the money from the donations of the believers (naturally), church buildings and organizations, sectarianism/party affiliation, and of course, what the spiritual is!)
Let us after this introduction see what it means for something to be spiritual. The word “spiritual” and “spirit” have one and the same root in the original, exactly as in English too, and from there it follows that spiritual is something according to the god, something from his spirit and according to his will. The will of the god can be seen in only one single place and that is his word, which we call the Bible. One of the main church crimes is their own tradition, which they keep on an equal level with the wor dof the god. Only the Protestants lie that they have no traditions, but they do, and many of their traditions are Catholic or Orthodox. And again, of course, connected with the above-mentioned topics, and not with all.
This unfortunately is very important, and the Christians grow strongly angry when someone exposes them that they do things which are not from the scriptures of the god. Or the sacred texts. The sacred texts of the old and the new contract-testament between the god and the man. And here we enter our topic, the spiritual.
Foundations of the spiritual
Only two are the sources of truth and revelation about the spiritual: the word of the god and the holy spirit. Jesus himself, who is called the word of the god, needed the holy spirit in order to perform the work of the god to which he had been called. His disciples were forbidden to do anything at all until the holy spirit came upon and in them. And all this in Jesus, who is the very word of the god.
Let us discuss the traditions
Every church has its own. Some are written, others are oral. If they deny it, let them show you that they have no statute. They have! And this is tradition, because they claim that when Christians abide by this statute (going to church on Sunday, giving a tithe only in this church, absolute agreement with the doctrine which is spoken from the pulpit, agreement to be silent all life, without rights to participate in the god’s service according to “the gift that has been given to you” and many similar things, some written, and others not, but absolutely obligatory) they are righteous before the god. You yourself must decide whether it is just/righteous before the god to obey people more than the god. After all, we will answer before the god, and not before people, for whatever we have “done in the body, whether good, whether evil.”
Armed with these thoughts, let us examine what the sacred texts say is good and what is evil.
What is good according to the scriptures of the god? It is to walk in faith in the god and in Jesus the anointed and to love your neighbor. The lord Jesus himself added one nuance to the second commandment, when he said: “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another, as I loved you!” In this way the foundation of our attitude toward one another in the faith is established. After this we are told that if we love one another, the god will be among us. And also to us that we will be known as disciples of the anointed if we love one another. So simple to tell! Probably hundreds of places from the sacred texts can be cited to prove that indeed this, is the commandment. Therefore the foundation for the spiritual is faith and love.
The third “ingredient” of the spiritual is justice. Here Greek will again be necessary. The horror! I am sorry! But the reason is not I, but your translators, who have translated the scriptures for you in an inadequade and lacking manner. The word which is persistently translated righteous, in its original essence has the meaning just. Truly I will not go into details. I will only say that Dike (Δικη) is not the “goddess” of righteousness, but of justice (δικαιοσύνη), which is a word from the same root. If a person is not just, he is not a believer, does not walk in love, and probably is not saved either. Unfortunately huge multitudes calling themselves Christians are not just toward anyone except toward a small group of close people, above all relatives according to the flesh, which is an astonishing form of unbelief and injustice. And let me clarify something: we are not fighting for the world to become a just place, because this has not been given to us. But we ought to fight for the good of the believers, in other words, to walk in love.
Here the question can be discussed, why is love so important? Whoever knows the god does not ask such questions, but this is his nature, since it is written that the god is love, and whoever loves knows the god. Besides this, our salvation is due to the love of the god and of Jesus the anointed. Without love, there is no salvation. To believe means to be eternal and also to trust. If you are faithful, you will fulfill the commandments which we already mentioned, as well as those which we have not. For example, if you love, you will help the others. For example, if they do not know something, you will teach them, for which you will lose both time and nerves, because people are “impossible”! A person is so stubborn in his own thing that to teach him something borders on the impossible, they are about one step away. Therefore if you do not love him, you will ask him for money in order to teach him. Because it has been proven that when a person gives money, afterwards he pays a lot of attention. If you teach him for free, he thinks that your knowledge is not worth anything, since you offer it for free.
Middle level
After we already know to love and to keep the word, and to obey the god, we reach the necessity to do this good in a possible way, because our resources as people are strongly limited.
Religious antipode
In the religious antipode of the spiritual, a group of Christians gather their efforts so that one person, called a pastor or a priest, may “speak to them” the truth regularly and he may have the care to deliver this truth to the world around the given place. This, however, completely buries the spiritual life of the rest, who by church condition do nothing except listen and give what is necessary, so that the given church society may both survive and prosper.
If we begin to listen to whichever religious party (that is, church), they will tell us “their interpretation” of the holy texts. If we walk in faith and love, probably “we will keep remembering” what to do, if we know the god, his word and his spirit. The spiritual order among us is not determined by our love, our program, our convenient time, our whatever. It is determined by the holy spirit, since he is the lord. That is so, indeed he is the lord! According to what is written, he distributes as he likes, at his discretion. It looks exciting, but there is no church that wants and obeys such a reasonable work! Most churches are clones of the Catholic "worship service,” I include all Protestant churches too, even the Adventist ones! The program is clear, everything is determined from the founding of the church and a place for the works of the spirit is not welcome at the so-called “worship service,” which consists of a religious lecture, called a “sermon,” singing of songs with texts from the Bible or resembling such, prayer – short and simple, so that the visitors do not become bored – of course “collection of the donations and offerings,” which is often disgusting, since supposedly they sing songs to the god, but actually they are trying to take as much money as possible out of people’s pockets, even if secretly. Sometimes they have two and three donations!? After that follows the bye-bye – nothing, emptiness, there is no spiritual life at all! The others do similarly as well.
The religion's excuses about the religion
The main excuse of the religion, for what it does, is “the convenience of the believers.” They say that this type of “worship service” is the most convenient for all, both for the leaders and for the laypeople, the visitors, the believers, the newcomers or whatever you call them. Another excuse is that in this way they protect themselves from heresies, but in reality they protect themselves inside the greatest and most disgusting heresies, without a possibility of correction. A third such one is the statute. A fourth, and in fact main one, is the obsession for power of someone or of a group of people. This obsession makes so many people commit crimes before the god, against his word, against the love, against the mercy/compassion, against the faith, both laypeople and leaders.
True spirituality or The spiritual order according to the Bible
To the horror of religion and to the joy of everyone who loves the god and the truth, there is written word, which is a clear instruction for the worldly Christians who want to learn, but still obviously do not know, otherwise they would not be dealing with what we have written. If we look at the texts of the Bible, we will see that the general assembly is general in the sense that everyone participates according to his own gifts in the spirit, but in full dependence on his maturity. If one person speaks all his life, then the rest never manage to understand that they are free people, nor can the speaker understand that he is not something, but that the grace of the god is everything!
The grace of the god
This is the requirement for service according to the Bible, nothing less. And here now I hear thousands of false servants shouting that they have the god’s grace, even if they have nothing. Let us examine them. The lord himself says that his people will be judged according to how they served the brothers. If you have seen a brother or sister in need, but have not reacted, bad. Let us define need, someone would say! Of course, if someone has no bread, supposedly it is clear, but the standard in the churches is for him to go hungry home. However there are also many things which are not measured with food and clothing. Everyone has a gift, but the leaders almost constantly wage war against the gifts of the people being in use. But it is written: “And the spirit is given for common benefit!” Remember that a leader who mistreats you on the topic of the spiritual neither loves you, nor wishes the assembly to be spiritual, nor has the grace of the god, which is free through faith in Jesus for everyone who obeys the word. And here the main problem is that the leaders who love power manipulate the believers and they never dare to begin to act in the spiritual, nor to think spiritually.
Here the topic must branch into several separate branches. One would be, how should a leader act who wants to be spiritual, but obviously is still worldly. The other is, how should a believer act who knows how to live in the spiritual, but does not know how to deal with his leader. The third would be, how a believer who does not know, but wants to, can begin life in the spiritual. The fourth is how an assembly should begin in the spiritual, if it has already understood the need for the spiritual and the commandment of the god. Let us examine them in order, but with the awareness that they are next to one another, different, but equal problems.
Before this, let us see how the god’s grace is acquired. Since it is free, through faith, then it is through faith in Jesus as the son of the god, as the one who died for our crimes and came alive on the third day for our justification. This must be followed by obedience to the word. Immersion in water, immersion in the spirit, participation in the supper of the lord. The learning of the bases of the faith is absolutely irreplaceable by anything. Everyone who does not know what is written in the Bible is not fit for anything. Then there begins a period of understanding the word, but it is directly bound to the spiritual, because there is no understanding without the spirit of the god, nor are there gifts outside him, even if they are for all. This is the base. And if you understand the word well, not your translations, rather the true word, you will truly be able to serve the god. Too complicated, a person will say, who can perform so many things in order to serve the god? The fact is that here with one sentence I am describing about thirty years of your life, if not more.
Because the grace of the god will not look at whether we have reached all this, but whether we have given ourselves in order to reach it. And if we every day continue to do what is required of us, then it does not matter whether we have been in the faith for one day, for one year, or for a hundred – the god does not change. His grace will stretch through all our weaknesses and will make us his warriors much earlier, according to how much we can carry at every given stage.
The assembly
Today’s assembly of the churches has already been discussed and there is no need to repeat anything; it is even a little shameful that the people of the god have fallen so much into religion. But let us see what happens when the whole assembly of the god gathers. Looked at realistically, this is not very easy on the scale of thousands who have believed, so when I say the whole, I mean whichever part of this whole which has gathered in one place.
Let us try to determine the parameters of this assembly. First I am obliged to state clearly that precisely this is the assembly which is described in the Bible. Someone cannot simply take the word of the god and throw it into the fire! Even if most churches have done precisely this with parts of the word of the god.
We can call the first parameter “when?”. The holy texts tell us: it is always a good time, there are no exceptions. 168 hours a week, 366 days a year the time for assembly is perfect! Everything else is hypocritical/two-faced religion. Because truly Israel had to rest on Saturday, but during a feast they were in Jerusalem for one week plus one day. They could always go to the prophets, or to the judges, or seek the god. It is always sufficiently holy to seek the god in prayer through faith in Yesus! (or Jesus, or Yisus) And because of the shed blood of the god’s lamb Jesus of Nazareth, we are accepted always!
Case 2: “where?”
There is a mania of religious leaders to love large assemblies at which they are leaders and to collect a large donation and for the people to call them their leaders (the terms are different, the truth is the same). For one person it is absolutely impossible to be the leader of one large group of people and to be responsible for everything, but it is almost the same with one small group too. In the Bible the main place is the home, but for Jesus the main place is wherever. And I want to tell you that I prefer to be wherever with Yesus than in the most golden palace listening about him, but without him, as usually happens. So the answer is wherever, especially if it is cheaper so that people are not burdened, and so that they can use their resources for something more adequate. In the Bible this is the definition of where. And what are we to do with the churches? You do not need them. The maintenance of these royal palaces is a great burden and must be ended for your good, and the sooner, the better. Bear in mind that in the Bible there is not a single building-church, nor commandment, nor prophecy to build such things. Therefore they are forbidden, even if they have no significance – they are useless. Church buildings and organizations are breeding grounds of heresies and hypocrisy, as also are the house churches made according to the model of the “large ones.”
In one word, everywhere, and if we add case 1 it becomes “always and everywhere,” which in reality is a very biblical expression.
Case 3 “What should we do, brothers, when we are together?” is a very biblical question, which has a clear biblical answer, which is as clear as it must be in order to be understood by everyone. But so that someone does not say that he cannot understand it, let us repeat what is said there.
We have an assembly in which, as the writing says, what is unfinished has been finished, and there are sent ones, prophets, proclaimers of good news, shepherds and teachers, as well as people who learn daily, only until they learn! Because one of the heavy crimes against the god and against the people nowadays in the churches is the trampling down of the gifts of the god’s people.
On the other hand some people learn slowly, others quickly; everyone must have his own time, but it must not be on the shoulders of the others! Because today believers “suffer” from such a level of irresponsibility that even in the world there is no similar attitude toward life. Because everyone says that the church is the environment for believers to grow, to live, and similar things, but in reality there is no environment at all, there are no people who are interested in anything at all, not only the daily needs of the others, but also the spiritual, and the soul-related ones if you will. So, if someone does not want to learn, perhaps he will have to pass through “certain circumstances” until he learns to be active, for his own good and salvation.
In the assembly the freedom of every person must reign, which is in the spirit, because it is written that where the spirit of the lord is, there is freedom. If there is no freedom, as is the usual thing today, then there the holy spirit is not. He is not in the churches! Even in the prophetic churches he is not!
We accept that we are already in one such assembly of the believers, where everyone knows what he is doing. This does not mean that this person has arrived at the destination, but that he is striving to reach it. In the true assembly everyone strives to help the rest learn to do what has been entrusted to them. Pastors on pulpits are absolutely forbidden. Because where there are two or three in the name of Jesus, there he too is in the midst of them. Everything else is heresy.
The life of the believers
As we ourselves guess, gathered together, seeking the god, is wonderful and we are always thankful to the god our father when we have such a possibility. But while in religion Christians are forced to gather on a concrete day throughout their whole life, in true spirituality Christians gather only when they can, and when the god does not give them another assignment, or else there are no obstacles from reality. Today’s Christians pursue their own career from Monday to Saturday, and on Sunday they are great disciples. And those churches that gather during the week too again do religion, and do not walk in faith, because faith obeys the word, in which there are no churches.
How so, there are no churches? Thus, because today “church” is a religious party or sect, which has its own statute and doctrine, which by nature differ from the Bible in many things. Perhaps the only true thing there is faith in the good news. Everything else is false. As their faith is not enough for them to follow the teaching of Jesus. Therefore, you have nothing to seek there, except to be misled. If you have already believed and have accepted the holy spirit, good; if you have only believed, again good; for the rest the god himself will take care. His grace in Jesus can do everything, do not be afraid!
